Zach has been training CrossFit since 2005. He started it in the Navy while completing BUD/S Training. “Eventually, I utilized it to train myself and other SEALs until I left the military,” he says. “I started coaching civilians when we opened the first CrossFit affiliate in Las Vegas in 2008.”
Zach loves being a part of his members’ journey toward more self-awareness and confidence as a result of training. “On a daily basis, I get to witness my members overcome and break through preconceived limitations…both physical and emotional,” he says. “It keeps me motivated to make sure they have the best experience possible while at Max Effort.”
Zach competed in several competitions, including the CrossFit Games as an individual in 2009, 2011, and 2013.

Anatomy of an Athlete (Dan Hollingsworth)
Making Vegas healthier one step at a time.
Promoting health and fitness and isn’t just an extremely rewarding career, both financially and emotionally, for Co-owner, Omar; it’s his way of life. Omar lives to help others and see their goals turn into reality. You see, Omar has always has done more for others than he’s done for himself. He served 8 years in the United States Air Force and after a horrific motorcycle accident in 2005, doctors told him he would never be able to walk again on his own. Omar rooted his faith in functional fitness and has never looked back. Now in the best shape of his life, Omar reflects often on that initial feeling of hopelessness and reminds himself and his clients that anything is possible. “It’s just about taking one step at a time,” Omar explains.
Shortly after, he decided to make it known to others loud and clear that anything is possible and dove head first into the fitness industry with Camp Fit Force in Las Vegas. Camp Fit Force started out slowly, with just one class a week at Willows Park in Summerlin with no equipment, just a passion to see others succeed and watch how fitness and health can change others’ lives the way it changed his.
As Omar reflects on the membership he has gained over the years, he says, “I love my Max Effort Team. I say TEAM because the members at our gyms are not customers to me. They are so much more than that. Seeing their growth and investment in their health is the most fulfilling thing I could ever ask for in my job. This isn’t just my business, this is my family.”

My name is Brandon Flores and I am the Program Director, as well as a coach at our west location. I was born and raised in Vegas, but recently moved back from Reno, where I did my undergrad. I’m currently pursuing my masters in biomechanics at UNLV. Certifications include CF-L2, USA Weightlifting, USA Gymnastics, USA Powerlifting, USA Track and Field, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, NASM CPT, FMS-1 and MobilityWOD. My athletic background consists of gymnastics, wrestling, boxing and judo. I’ve been doing Crossfit since 2011. I’ve been coaching since 2012, starting at Crossfit 702, before coaching at various gyms in Reno, and finally arriving here at Max Effort in September of 2018. My favorite thing about coaching is proving someone who says “I can’t do something” wrong, and seeing them do movements and workouts they never thought themselves capable of. Each day is a chance for me to come in and build my athletes up little by little. I appreciate being a part of this community and I’m excited to see what we can accomplish moving forward.

Paul Longworth has one singular goal in life: Inspire others to become better humans. “Everything else I do is just a way to help me achieve that one goal.” He started training in martial arts at the age of six. He trained, competed, and coached for nearly twenty years. Paul has also competed in physical events ranging from endurance racing to strongman competitions. “I just love to test myself and prove that I can overcome anything in my way!”
Paul found CrossFit while serving in the Air Force in 2013 and immediately fell in love. “CrossFit can teach you so many lessons about life. How to dig deep when things don’t go right, the importance of determination, and how to constantly seek out ways to improve. CrossFit isn’t just a way to get in shape. It’s an opportunity to grow. Every workout is a life lesson if you open your eyes to it. My job is to help you reach your goals you walk through the door with, then help you realize that you can achieve so much more here than just hitting a PR or dropping some pounds.”
Paul has been coaching CrossFit since 2016 and is currently a student at UNLV where he studies Athletic Training, allowing him to put his passion for fitness, rehabilitation, and emergency care to good use.

I was Born in Jalisco, Mexico and moved to California when I was 4 years old. I have been an athlete my entire life, competing in track, volleyball, soccer, basketball, softball, triathlons and amateur boxing. I’ve always loved the adrenaline of competing and being the best athlete I could be. I Went off to College at SDSU earned my Bachelors in Business Management and started my own personal training business along with working as a weight-loss counselor. Love being a part of peoples’ journey’ as they better their lives and health. In 2014 I moved to Las Vegas and is where I was introduced, by my sister in law, to try CrossFit. I had never lifted weights before like they do in CrossFit. I was always the cardio queen. I signed up for the buddy challenge with my sister in law and was hooked. I love the community and how supportive everyone is. After some consideration and talking with coach Omar, I decided to take the L1 seminar. Teaching group classes was a big change from just one on one personal training, but I absolutely love it. I look forward to coming to class every day getting a great workout in with friends that have now become family.
